SCT proudly brings you this socially-distanced version of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, adapted by Dwayne Hartford, based on the children's book by Kate DiCamillo. Edward is an expensive toy rabbit made of china, whose self-centered vanity meets its match in the love and travails of the many people he encounters as he passes from owner to owner over the years, before eventually making his way to a home he'd all but given up hope of finding. This heartwarming, family-friendly show is produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois, and, as have been all productions in this uniquely challenging year for live theatre, it was funded in part by a generous grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Thirteen actors bring the story to life, recorded over six days in multiple locations (with multiple Internet connection speeds), with an assist from on-screen artwork from local children, some back-up score, and a few cutaways to Edward himself to help set the scene.
