Both one-act plays are from a 1950s television series called "Ethel and Albert."

In To Open, Pry Cover Albert deals with a pickle jar that won't budge as Ethel deals with Albert and an impending dinner party. In Dutch Treat Albert is forced to be the telephone middleman as Ethel and her friends try to sort out how much each of them should pay for lunch. Albert learns another lesson on the difference between men and women.

Both plays find humor in every day incidents with which most people will readily identify
