• SCT's The Dixie Swim Club wins Runner Up, Best Ensemble, More
    at 2011 SETC Festival in Atlanta
    The cast and crew of Starkville Community Theatre’s The Dixie Swim Club was named Runner Up in the 2011 Southeastern Theatre Conference Festival, behind winning productions from Florida and Alabama. The top two shows advance to the national AACTFest competition. In addition to the Runner Up honor, the cast won Best Ensemble and actress Madeline Golden received an Outstanding Achievement in Acting Award. Long-time SCT stylist Jasen Fair was also honored, winning the Best Hair and Wigs Award for his work on the production. Congratulations! (See photos)

    Mississippi Theatre Association Festival, Advances to SETC

    The cast and crew of Starkville Community Theatre’s The Dixie Swim Club was named Runner Up in the 2011 Mississippi Theatre Association Festival held in Meridianin January, marking the fourth time in five years SCT has been honored and seelected to advance to the Southeastern Theatre Conference. The production will next compete at the Southeastern Theatre Conference’s Community Theatre Festiva in Atlanta in March. (Read more)

  • SCT's Eleemosynary wins Best Show at
    Mississippi Theatre Association 2010 Festival

    The cast and crew of Starkville Community Theatre’s Eleemosnary took top honors at the 2010 Mississippi Theatre Association Festival held in Tupelo in January, marking the third time in four years SCT has earned Best Show. The production will next compete at the Southeastern Theatre Conference’s Community Theatre Festival. (Read more)

  • SCT's Catfish Moon wins SETC, Advances to National Competition
    The cast and crew of Starkville Community Theatre’s award-winning competition show can now add another accolade to their resume — regional champions. SCT’s production of Mississippi playwright Laddy Sartin’s Catfish Moon was named best production at the Southeastern Theatre Conference’s Community Theatre Festival in Birmingham, Ala., on Saturday. The win at the SETC festival qualifies the SCT show to represent the Southeastern U.S. and compete at the American Association of Community Theatre’s national festival in Tacoma, Wash., from June 23 to 27.   • SCT Takes Top Honors, Best Director, more in 2009 MTA Festival
    Starkville Community Theatre won hook, line and sinker at the state level during the Mississippi Theatre Association's 2009 Festival. SCT's production of Catfish Moon was named Best Production in the Community Theatre Division and director Kris Lee was named Best Director during the three-day event held in Natchez. The cast was also named Best Ensemble, and the theatre won an addition three honors for a total of seven. (Read more)

  • SCT Wins Best Runner Up, Best Director, more in 2008 MTA Festival
    Starkville Community Theatre once again placed well at the state level during the Mississippi Theatre Association's 2008 Festival. SCT's production of "Art" was named runner up in the Community Theatre Division and director MJ Etua was named Best Director. All three of the actors were also honored with Gabe Smith being named Best Actor and Kris Lee and Lyle Tate being named All Star Cast. (Read more)

  • SCT Wins Best Show at Mississippi Theatre Association 2007 Festival
    When it came to competing at the annual Mississippi Theatre Association festival, Starkville Community Theatre performers have done well the past few years, but top show honors have eluded them.

    But that was not the case in this year’s festival — held last weekend at the Gertrude Ford Performing Arts Center in Oxford — when SCT’s production of “Smoke on the Mountain” won seven of the 10 awards in the competition, including the Warren McDaniel Award for Best Production. (Read More)

  • SCT Wins 3rd in SETC Regional Competition
    Starkville Community Theatre sent the Sanders Family to the big city of Atlanta for the 2007 Southeatern Theatre Conference Festival after its production of Smoke on the Mountain was name Best Production at the 2007 MTA Festival in Oxford. The seven-member cast, under the direction of Pattye Archer and Alison Stamps, was named Runner-Up in the community theatre division. (Read More)
